We are a little more than a week into our new project, and I am liking it so far. I have enjoyed the brainstorming process while coming up with a unique purpose/idea for my tree and treehouse. I have taken some pictures with a nice camera from a handful of angles so that I will be able to document my process and have sketches over quality photography.
My tree is located in the front yard outside of strong hall, across from wescoe beach. The tree isn't very unique in its shape or size, but its large and noticeable. During the brainstorm process, I was running through ideas about how I could design a tree house for this particular tree, but I wasn't thinking about HOW the treehouse could be used. As I sat and sketched this tree, I noticed that it was an extremely beautiful day - and everyone was out and about. Thousands of people walked by, all sorts of groups were set up on wescoe beach, music was playing, birds were chirping, the basketball players were everywhere.... EVERYONE was outside. It came to me that this tree would be perfect for 'people watching' - I found myself just sitting back and watching almost more than sketching my tree.
I am excited to continue on with this project

Hanging, Posting, Walking
I almost fell off a ladder today hanging up our signs on the ceiling of A&D. We also put our signage up on all but one of our floors, and had a couple groups of people ask us about "Naptime" and where its at. Too bad most of our spots are only for those who are extremely desperate to nap. I posted the flyers on each of our floors - hopefully they don't get taken down since they aren't on bulletin boards.
We still have some more testing to do and final touches to our project, and then its on to our presentation. I think this was a decent project once all the confusion was settled, and I look forward to some of our future projects.

Finally Organized
This is my first blog post for BDS102, and so far I have enjoyed my new classmates and especially my new teacher, May Tveit. You have been awesome and a great help especially after the first few classes went haywire (thanks Branham). It was a crazy situation and everything seemed very unorganized, but as of today, our group is prepared and ready to go.
For our Wayfinding project, we are testing certain 'napping areas' around the A&D building. Today we came up with a to do list and split work evenly across our group, and we will be ready to test our 'napping zones' on thursday. I'll be designing the flyers and taking care of floor plans while other group members prepare the napping locations and control our final powerpoint presentation.
We also brainstormed some ideas for our final presentation, like the possibility of improving upon just having napping spots -- to having a sort of 'napping lab' where it is a much larger space dedicated to a relaxing atmosphere perfect for napping. This could work as a nice way to conclude our presentation, but first we want to focus on completing our project as it is.
That's all
